But even so, MediaCorp has a tendency to take a winning idea, milk
it of everything it's worth and toss it at viewers in all manner of
permutations ad nauseum. The English Channel 5 is particularly
guilty of this.
For instance, they realised in the mid-90s that family-themed shows
like PCK and Growing Up were doing well. As a result, they tossed
all manner of similarly family-themed shows like Justice Pao, Brand
New Towkay, Happy Belly, The Road Home, and so and so forth - all
to no success.
The only show I ever watch on Mediacorp these days is Prison
Break.... and it's an imported show.
